The recent decision by the BC Government to forcibly place long-term care and assisted living operators under the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC), without any consultation with providers or sector partners, has caused deep concern across the sector.

This transition leaves many questions unanswered, including criteria for inclusion and the implications for existing workforce structures. BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA) understands that the lack of clarity is impacting providers' operations and planning for future growth.

Join us for this important member town hall to hear directly from the BCCPA Board President Marc Kinna (CEO, Baptist Housing) and BCCPA CEO Mary Polak as they provide an update on the situation, share what we know to date, and outline next steps in advocacy and engagement with the government.

Purpose:

  • Update members on what is currently known about the announced HEABC transition and the MOA.
  • Outline the position of BCCPA's Board on this issue.
  • Outline BCCPA's government relations and advocacy strategy, including actions taken to date and next steps.
  • Provide space for members to ask questions in a safe and confidential setting.

Please note that this Town Hall is intended for service provider members only.

Please submit your questions during event registration to help shape the discussion and ensure we address your key concerns.
