Session 2: Financial Elder Abuse and Unpaid Co-Payments in Long-Term Care

In this session, the Public Guardian and Trustee of BC (PG&T) will review their roles and responsibilities when it comes to handling financial concerns, and when they might step in as ones Committee of Estate. The discussion will delve into challenges associated with unpaid co-payments, including scenarios involving financial elder abuse or residents losing their ability to manage finances without a designated decision-maker. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the typical referral processes, leaving with insights into the steps involved and how the PG&T navigates these cases.
