With Canada’s aging population and the associated increase in demand for seniors care services, securing the next generation of health care workers is more important than ever before. However, if the current labour market shortages are any indication, Canada may not be training enough care staff to meet the needs of our frail and elderly seniors.

This interactive workshop will help you understand how to use federal and provincial immigration programs to hire direct care and allied health care professionals from abroad to fill positions in BC. Representatives from the federal department of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and from the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) will present program requirements for temporary work permits and permanent residence.

Workshop participants will learn about the application process for these programs, and what resources and supports there are for employers looking to navigate both federal and provincial immigration programs. Workshop hosts will also provide time for questions and answers.
